Kaori Nakatani serves as the Director and Head of the Japan Office at the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi) since January 2020. Previously, Nakatani held positions as a Coordination Specialist and Project Formulation Adviser in the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) from October 2017 to July 2019 and June 2013 to June 2017, respectively. Nakatani also worked as a Global Fund Human Rights Governance Technical Officer at UNDP Asia Pacific Regional Centre from May 2012 to May 2013, and as a Programme Officer for UNAIDS, first in the Regional Support Team for Asia and the Pacific and then in the Indonesia Country Office, from November 2010 to October 2011 and March 2009 to October 2010, respectively. Nakatani earned a Master of Sciences in Health Promotion Sciences from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London, in 2002.
