Shu Liao

Shu Liao is a skilled quantitative researcher currently at DRW since July 2023, with prior experience as an applied scientist at Amazon from August 2020 to June 2023. Shu completed a fellowship at Insight Data Science where a discount forecast model for the Steam platform was developed, showcasing expertise in data scraping, cleaning, and machine learning with a successful web app deployment. Earlier, Shu interned at OnScale, creating a C++ library for kernel smoothing and enhancing processing speed, while also providing a Python interface. Academic contributions as a graduate research assistant at Texas A&M University include designing a Python package for experimental analysis and publishing nine papers in the field of neutrino phenomenology. Shu holds a PhD in Physics from Texas A&M University, a Master's in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor's in Physics from Peking University.
