Conrad Addikah has worked in the field of plant science since 2016. In 2016, they worked as a Soil Fertility Analyst at SoilCares, where they trained farmers on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and developed soil conservation training manuals and compost-making procedures for small-scale farmers. Conrad also performed day-to-day soil fertility analysis in the lab using dry chemistry methods (Spectrometry) and formed business development partnerships with stakeholders interested in SoilCares products.
In 2017, Conrad Addikah began working at Crop Nutrition Laboratory Services as a Technical Support- Mobile Soil Testing Spectral Laboratories. In this role, they led the installation of 12 mobile soil testing laboratories across Africa (Ghana, Nigeria, Malawi, Senegal & Tanzania) by offering training on sample preparation, analysis and results interpretation to the lab technicians assigned to these labs. Conrad also offered daily technical support and conducted remote support to resolve technical problems arising from over 12 mobile soil testing labs across Africa under the Cropnuts-OCP Africa School Lab project. Conrad offered training to farmers on climate-smart agriculture including Good Agricultural practices (GAP), in different farmer field days, workshops, seminars and workshops organized by Cropnuts in collaboration with its stakeholders. Conrad Addikah also oversaw management of nutrient omission, conservation agriculture, and precision farming trials and field experiments for different fertilizer stakeholders in their regions of interest across Africa. Conrad built and maintained relationships with customers and new prospects so as to promote and develop Cropnuts soil testing laboratories, precision farming, and mapping services business. In addition, they worked and coordinated with the GIS manager and Precision Ag Manager on the processing of soil data from grid, zonal or field soil sampling as well as provided any necessary technical information/interpretation that will aid in the generation of high-quality maps for nutrients management. Conrad also coordinated and oversaw crop health and soil fertility management-related projects and interpreted soil data and generated correctional and fertilizer recommendations that were being offered by Cropnuts to its spectral laboratory customers.
In 2018, Conrad Addikah began working as a Graduate Research Fellow at the University of Ibadan. In this role, they prepared materials for reports, presentations, and submissions to peer-reviewed journal publications. Conrad also worked on a cassava bio-fortification improvement project, studying the genetic variation for beta carotene content in two breeding cassava populations under the International Institute of Agriculture (IITA-Ibadan) vitamin A cassava biofortification project. Conrad also supported department members with administrative, research and academic assistance.
In 2020, Conrad Addikah began working as a Plant Science Manager at DryGro.
Conrad Addikah attained a Master of Science (MSc) in Plant Breeding from the University of Ibadan in 2018, after completing a BSc. in Agriculture and Biotechnology from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology in 2015. Conrad also attended Bukura Agricultural College in 2014, where they focused on Mushroom Production. In 2021, they obtained a certification in Data Analytics and Visualization from PwC.
