Pat Schnable

Co-Founder at Dryland Genetics

Pat Schnable has a diverse work experience in academia and business. They started their career at Iowa State University in 1988 as a Professor and later served as the C.F. Curtiss Distinguished Professor, Iowa Corn Promotion Board Endowed Chair in Genetics, Director of the Plant Sciences Institute, Baker Scholar of Agricultural Entrepreneurship, and Director of the Center for Plant Genomics. In 2014, they co-founded Dryland Genetics, a company focused on genetics research. Additionally, in 2010, they became the Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Data2Bio LLC. They also worked at China Agriculture University as a ChangJiang Scholar from 2009 to 2018.

Pat Schnable received a Ph.D. in Plant Breeding and Genetics from Iowa State University between 1981 and 1986. In 2002, they completed a Short Course in Managing Innovation in Agribusiness at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. Prior to that, Pat Schnable obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University, studying an unspecified field between 1977 and 1981.
