David Jones

David Jones is an experienced operations and HR professional with a strong background in leading teams within the manufacturing and packaging sectors. Currently serving as the UK Operations Director for DS Smith since January 2018, David previously held the position of Chief Operating Officer at the Advanced Forming Research Centre. Prior roles include UK HR Director at Rio Tinto Alcan, where responsibilities encompassed HR and HSEQ functions across multiple sites, as well as positions as HR/HSE Manager and Procurement Manager, culminating in roles overseeing significant operational sites with substantial turnover and employee bases. David holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry with Materials Science from the University of Liverpool, an MBA from The Open University, and completed the Emerging Leaders Programme at London Business School.
