Christine Chichester has extensive experience in the field of bioinformatics and scientific IT innovation. Christine served as the Chief Information Officer for the Open PHACTS project at CALIPHO group, where they designed and implemented a semantic service-oriented architecture for integrating public data sets. Prior to that, they were the Chief Information Officer for BioAssist at the Netherlands Bioinformatics Centre. Christine also held the position of Head of Scientific Content at Knewco, Inc, and worked as a Senior Scientist at Geneva Bioinformatics (GeneBio) S.A. In their most recent role, they were the Director d-lab at Firmenich, leading the development of advanced data and machine learning engineering and modeling. Christine is currently serving as the Chapter Lead for Data & ML Engineering and Modeling at dsm-firmenich.

Christine Chichester has a strong educational background. Christine obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biology, General from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1985. Christine continued their education at the University of California, Davis, where they earned a Master's degree in Cell Biology and Anatomy from 1987 to 1989. Later, Christine pursued a PhD in Cell and Developmental Biology from the same institution, completing it in 1993. Christine further enhanced their expertise by completing their Post-doctoral studies in Molecular Pharmacology at Stanford University from 1994 to 1998.
