Philip Mertens

Philip Mertens is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in Corporate Venture Capital and board governance. Currently serving as Principal at dsm-firmenich Ventures since May 2023, Philip focuses on investments in Human Health & Nutrition, Perfumery & Beauty, and Biomedical sectors. In addition to this role, Philip holds board positions at ExoLab Italia, NC Biomatrix B.V., and Paleo, all of which specialize in innovative biotechnologies and ingredient development. Previous experience includes significant positions at DSM, where Philip advanced from Analyst to Principal in DSM Venturing and served as CFO for DSM PPE+. Academic qualifications include a Master's in Innovation & Entrepreneurship from Antwerp Management School and a Master's in Business Administration from KU Leuven.
