Chris Porter

Scientific Engineering Manager, Remote Sensing Team Lead at DTN

Chris Porter has a strong background in meteorological and remote sensing work. Chris began their career as a Research Associate at the Cooperative Institute for Mesoscale Meteorological Studies in 1995 before becoming a Research Scientist. In 2005, they joined Weathernews as a Scientific Technologist, where they worked until 2009. Following that, they joined Weather Decision Technologies Inc., first as a Senior Meteorological Developer and then as a Radar Team Lead. In 2018, they moved to DTN, where they worked as the Radar Team Lead and later became the Scientific Engineering Manager and Remote Sensing Team Lead. Chris'swork experience spans over 25 years and includes a variety of roles in the meteorological field.

Chris Porter received their education in meteorology at Penn State University, where they earned a Ph.D. and Masters degree between the years 1992 and 2003.
