Prior to this role, Omar held the position of Senior Flight Operations Inspector at the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority from March 2010 to September 2013. Earlier in the career, Omar contributed to Emirates from February 1995 to March 2010 in various capacities including Network Operations Specialist and In-flight Services - Flight Purser.
