Mohammad Abdullah

Mohammad Abdullah is an accomplished leader in the fields of media and design, currently serving as President of the Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation since January 2018. With extensive experience at TECOM Group Dubai since December 2008, Mohammad has held multiple roles, including Managing Director for Dubai Knowledge Park, Dubai International Academic City, and Dubai Media City, focusing on business strategy development and operational excellence. Prior positions include Executive Vice President at CNBC Arabia and Director of Strategy and Planning at Emirates Media, where responsibilities included shaping organizational structure and overseeing editorial activities. Mohammad's career initiated as a Broadcast Journalist and News Anchor at Abu Dhabi Television. Educational credentials include a Master of Arts in Mass Communications from Emerson College and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication with a minor in French Language from United Arab Emirates University.

Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation

In collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and The New School’s Parsons School of Design, Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation (DIDI) is a private, non-profit university, located at Dubai Design District (d3), accredited by the Ministry of Education in the UAE. With its first intake in 2018, DIDI is focused on nurturing, mentoring and creating the next generation of designers. The curriculum is designed to empower students to map out their own four-year educational journey, culminating in the region’s first Integrated Bachelor of Design degree, with a choice of concentration in the areas of Product Design, Multimedia Design, Fashion Design and Strategic Design Management.
