Matthew J. Wilson

Matthew J. Wilson is an experienced conservation and sustainability professional currently serving as the Head of Conservation Programs at Ducks Unlimited Canada since April 2023. Prior to this role, Matthew held positions such as Senior Sustainability Planner for Climate Adaptation at the District of Saanich and Research Program Specialist for the Government of British Columbia. Matthew's extensive background includes leadership roles at the Government of Alberta as Team Lead for Wetlands and Wetland Restoration and Compensation Specialist, as well as working as an Aquatics Specialist at Charette Pell Poscente Environmental Corp. Matthew has contributed to important publications in the field, including the 3rd version of the "Guideline for the Wetland Establishment on Reclaimed Oil Sands Leases." Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Ecology from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and English from the University of Victoria.
