Courtney S. Owens

Courtney S. Owens is an experienced Environmental Compliance Specialist and Biologist currently working at Ducks Unlimited since April 2020. Previous roles include Environmental Planner II and Biologist at Dokken Engineering, where effective field assessments and compliance with CEQA and NEPA regulations were key responsibilities. Courtney held the position of Environmental Scientist at the California Department of Food and Agriculture, conducting complex analyses and developing regulations for environmental protection against invasive species. Earlier experience included serving as a Biological Technician for both the USFS National Forest Genetics Lab and the Pacific Southwest Research Station, focusing on genetic analysis and ecological field projects. Courtney holds a Master of Science in Environmental Policy and Management and a GIS Gold Badge Certification from Pace University, along with a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Management and Conservation.
