Cristian David Morales Alvarez

Cristian David Morales Alvarez has gained a diverse range of experience in software development and engineering roles. Cristian David is currently working as a Software Developer at Duco since June 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Software Engineer at Ochre from May 2021 to June 2022.

In January 2021, Cristian joined First Derivatives as a Software Engineer Consultant, where they contributed to integrating new markets with existing components for order processing and quotes on trending markets services. Cristian David utilized the Spring stack, Java 8, Elasticsearch, and the ION platform in this role, which lasted until May 2021.

From May 2020 to January 2021, Cristian held the position of Lead Software Developer at RELATE DATA. Cristian David took charge of back-end development, guiding technical decision-making and implementing design patterns for a network environment monitoring software. Cristian David also created basic functionalities to serve as examples for the rest of the team.

Previously, they worked at Globant from June 2018 to March 2020 in the role of Java Software Developer. Cristian David actively contributed to migrating a monolithic application to distributed services and collaborated on various services related to accounts, authorization and authentication, notifications, and other business services. Cristian David followed best practices and delivered high-quality software in collaboration with senior colleagues.

Before joining Globant, Cristian was a Software Architect at Ceiba Software from November 2017 to June 2018. Here, they developed insurance software features, adopting the SCRUM methodology and utilizing Play Framework and Java to create reactive services.

From May 2016 to October 2017, Cristian worked as a Software Developer at Universidad EAFIT. Cristian David maintained, supported, and created features for multiple systems within the university, handled version control using subversion, and performed manual deployment across different environments. Additionally, they created PLSQL jobs, reports, and procedures as requested by various university departments.

In their early career, they held the position of Junior Java Developer at Software Estratégico from January 2016 to May 2016. Here, they developed features for a significant project for the Ministry of Transport of Colombia, creating SOAP and REST services using technologies such as Spring MVC, Spring Web Flow, JSF, Hibernate, PLSQL, and Oracle databases.

Lastly, Cristian worked as a Junior Java Developer at Punto Click from January 2014 to February 2015. Cristian David developed custom solutions for a billing software, generated on-demand reports through scripting, and maintained, documented, and tested existing features.

Cristian David Morales Alvarez has a solid education background in computer software technology. Cristian David attended the Politénico Colombiano 'Jaime Isaza Cadavid' from 2013 to 2014, where they obtained a professional technician degree in programming systems of information. Following that, they pursued further education at the same institution from 2016 to 2018 and earned a degree as a technologist in data systematization, specializing in computer software technology. Additionally, Cristian David Morales Alvarez holds a certification as a CKAD: Certified Kubernetes Application Developer, which was obtained in March 2023 from The Linux Foundation.
