Chelsea Bowers-Doerning is an accomplished biologist with diverse experience in marine ecology, research, and species restoration. Currently serving as a California Sea Grant State Fellow at Sea Grant since February 2024 and as an As-Needed Biologist at Dudek since June 2022, Chelsea contributed to the San Gabriel Reservoir Post Fire Emergency Restoration Project, focusing on the relocation of special status aquatic species. Chelsea has been a Research Technician at California State University, Fullerton since October 2017, where ongoing projects include a five-year survey on marine invertebrates and the development of microplastic extraction procedures. Previous roles include a Biology Specialist at Chambers Group, Inc. with a focus on reef ball monitoring, and laboratory positions in various organizations. Chelsea holds a Master of Science in Biological Science and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Marine Biology from California State University, Fullerton, as well as an Associate of Science from Mt. San Antonio College.
