Neil Thomas

Chief Executive and Principal at Dudley College

Neil Thomas has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Neil started their career as a Product Engineer at Ricoh UK in 1995 before moving on to MSD Ltd (Automotive Components) as a Systems Manager in 1997. In 2001, they joined Kidderminster College as an IT Lecturer and Section Manager. Neil then worked at Dudley College, where they held various roles including Assistant Director, Learning Resources Manager, Information Learning Technology Development Manager, Director of Dudley Advance, Vice Principal of Curriculum and Standards, and finally as the Chief Executive and Principal starting in 2020. During their time at Dudley College, they were responsible for developing and implementing various curriculum initiatives and training college leaders in the UK and abroad.

Neil Thomas has a strong educational background. Neil obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Warwick in 1994. Neil continued their studies at the same university and completed a Master's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 1996.

In 1997, Neil attended the University of Wolverhampton and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management, with a focus on General Management. Following this, they pursued a Teaching certificate and an Assessors award from Kidderminster College in 2000, specializing in C&G 7307 Pt 1 & 2.

Neil further expanded their knowledge by completing a Post Graduate Certificate in Mentoring from the University of Wolverhampton in 2002. Later, in 2005, they enrolled at Sheffield Hallam University and achieved a Post Graduate Diploma in Education Management.

Recently, in 2018, Neil attended the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, where they participated in the ETF Strategic Leadership Programme, focusing on Leadership.

Overall, Neil Thomas has a diverse educational background encompassing engineering, business administration, teaching, mentoring, and leadership.
