Shawn Duffy, CISSP, has over 18 years of experience in the information security and compliance field. Shawn began their career in 2001 as a Senior Security Consultant for NCI, Inc., where they served as a subject matter expert and developed methods and techniques used for completing security designs, penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and risk mitigation. In 2003, Duffy became a Senior Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) for Northrop Grumman Mission Systems. In 2007, they moved to Fortinet, Inc. as a Federal Systems Engineer, where they contributed to several RFPs with up to $4.2 million in value of products and developed business relationships to land opportunities in 50,000+ units and proposals over $2. In 2010, Duffy became an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) for General Dynamics C4S. In 2014, they founded Duffy Compliance Services, where they serve as the CEO. Duffy Compliance Services removes the pressure of figuring out how to meet compliance requirements and finds solutions to missing or inadequate security controls as well as how to measure their effectiveness.
Shawn Duffy, CISSP has a comprehensive educational background. Shawn began their education in 1987 at Howard Community College, where they obtained an Associate of Arts (A.A.) in Business Administration and Management, General and an Associate of Arts (AA) in Secondary Education and Teaching. Shawn then attended the University of Maryland Baltimore County from 1990 to 1992, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Management Information Systems. In addition to their educational qualifications, Duffy has obtained a number of certifications, including the CISSP from (ISC)2 in May 1999, the C|EH from EC-Council in March 2013, the CySA+ from CompTIA in October 2017, the Vulnerability Management Specialist from Qualys in February 2016, the Mobile Examiner (AME) from AccessData in February 2013, and the Documentation Reviewer Certificate from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in May 2012.
