Lead Engineer at Duke Energy

John Hart, PE has a diverse work experience spanning several companies. John began their career as a Store Sales Associate at Flex Bon Paints in 2001 before transitioning to Sherwin-Williams Paints as a Store Manager in 2002. At Sherwin-Williams, they focused on generating sales leads, qualifying customers, and developing their business. In 2010, John joined the University of North Carolina at Charlotte as an Electrical Engineering Student, where they gained foundational knowledge in their field. After graduating in 2013, they joined URS Corporation as an Engineer I, providing engineering input and preparing reports for power plant modifications. In 2014, they worked as a Substation EIT at HDR, gaining experience in substation engineering. John then joined Duke Energy in 2015 as an Engineer II, specializing in Distribution Planning and Analysis Control (DPAC). John was later promoted to Engineer III in Grid Solutions, and most recently served as a Senior Engineer. In July 2021, John took on the role of Lead Engineer at Duke Energy Corporation. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated expertise in engineering, project management, and problem-solving.

John Hart, PE attended Avon Park High School from 1996 to 1999, where they obtained their High School Diploma. John then enrolled at South Florida Community College from 1999 to 2001 and earned an Associate of Arts degree. Later, they attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte from 2010 to 2013, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on Energy Systems. John continued their education at North Carolina State University from 2017 to 2020, earning a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering.
