Heather Raslan

Vice President Of Academic Affairs at Duke Student Government

Heather Raslan has a diverse work experience. In 2020, they worked as a Yang Lab Research Assistant at the University of Illinois Chicago. The following year, from April to August, they were a Head Soccer Coach at Soccer Shots Franchising, where they coached over 150 kids. Starting in 2022, they joined Duke University and took on multiple roles. Heather served as a House Course Facilitator, creating and leading seminar courses on the US healthcare system. Additionally, they were a part of the Bass Connections team, conducting research in Uganda to develop sustainable neurosurgical systems. Lastly, they became the Vice President of Academic Affairs at Duke Student Government in April 2023 and previously held the position of Senator of Academic Affairs. Heather'sresponsibilities included various projects and initiatives to improve research opportunities, accessibility of house courses, and student engagement with the Durham community. Heather's work experience showcases their involvement in academia, research, coaching, and student leadership.

Heather Raslan completed their Bachelor's degree in Neurosciences and Global Health from Duke University between 2021 and 2025. Before that, they attended Hinsdale Central High School from 2017 to 2021, where they achieved an outstanding GPA of 5.94/5.0. In terms of additional certifications, Heather obtained the Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification from the American Red Cross in May 2022. Heather also earned the Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish from the State of Illinois in November 2020.
