Shyam Valera

Shyam Valera began their work experience as a Customer Service Representative at Coast Capital Savings in July 2009, where they worked until December 2015. In January 2016, they co-founded Dunya Media and assumed the role of Co-Founder and Principal. At Dunya Media, Shyam oversaw the development and production of all projects. Shyam also co-created and produced the award-winning web series Welcome to Surrey, which garnered over a million views. Additionally, Shyam produced Hasan Minhaj's live show Homecoming King: Vancouver, which was sold out for two shows.

Shyam Valera obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with a specialization in Public Health Education and Promotion, as well as Population Biology, from the Faculty of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University. This educational experience took place from 2009 to 2014.
