Jacob Gaffney is the Co-Founder and Principal at Gaffney Austin. Prior to this, they served as the Editor in Chief of HousingWire where they led double-digit growth for nearly a decade. Under their leadership, the company was acquired by Riomar Capital in 2016.

Previously, Jacob was the Deputy Editor at Thomson Reuters. In this role, they were responsible for the editorial strategy and day-to-day operations of the mortgage finance publication. Jacob also oversaw the editorial operations for two magazines and helped organize conference panels and webinars.

Jacob has extensive writing experience, having authored news articles, features, and a weekly column. Jacob is also a skilled editor, having edited copy from contributors and reporters.

Jacob Gaffney's educational career includes earning a BS in Drama/Communications from Loyola University New Orleans, as well as a high school diploma from East Jefferson High School. Jacob also has certification from the U.S. Soccer Federation in US Soccer D License, and certification from US Youth Soccer in License. Additionally, they have certification from ADP in ADP Smart.
