Mengyu Chen has worked in various roles and companies throughout their career. Mengyu started their career as a Social Media Strategist and Photographer for the 2014 Newhouse Fashion Show. Mengyu then worked as a Marketing Intern at the Fair Housing Council of Central New York. Following that, they worked as a Social Media Manager at LivableCNY, where they led a team to create social media strategies and oversee campaign execution.
Afterwards, Chen worked at the Newhouse School, Syracuse University, first as a Graduate Student Assistant and later as a Graphic Design Teaching Assistant. Mengyu then moved on to Annex88, where they worked as a Social Media Analyst.
In 2015, Chen joined OMD USA as a Data Analyst. Mengyu then transitioned to Yeecall Network Limited, where they served as a Digital Marketing Manager for two years.
In 2018, Chen joined westOeast as an Account Director. Mengyu was responsible for developing and executing digital marketing plans, cultivating content and media buy strategies, and managing campaign development and execution. Mengyu worked with clients such as DHL, Nordic Naturals, and Arizona State University.
In 2019, Chen joined TikTok as part of the Growth Marketing team, specifically focusing on TikTok For Business. Mengyu worked in this role until 2021.
Currently, Chen works at Duolingo. Mengyu started as a Performance Marketing Manager and was recently promoted to the position of Senior Performance Marketing Manager.
Mengyu Chen obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Business/Managerial Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2012. Subsequently, they pursued a Master's degree in Communication and Media Studies at Syracuse University, which they completed in 2014. In 2018, Mengyu Chen participated in the Oxford Blockchain Strategy Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, furthering their knowledge in the field of Blockchain.
