Rémy Maréchal has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Starting in 2005, they worked as a Waste Management Consultant at VEOLIA Propreté until 2011. Rémy then joined Duolingo in 2012 as a Language Content Coordinator, where they managed language content until 2014. From 2014 to 2016, Rémy served as the Head of Recruitment at Duolingo, overseeing the recruitment process. Following this role, they became the Content Operations Manager at Duolingo from 2016 to 2018, responsible for managing content operations. Most recently, Rémy held the position of Staff Content Program Manager at Duolingo from August 2018 onwards.

Rémy Maréchal has a diverse educational background. In 2004, they completed their Major in Political Science from Sciences Po Lille. During their time there, they also studied abroad at Concordia University in 2002-2003, focusing on Political Science. Prior to attending Sciences Po Lille, Rémy Maréchal obtained an Associates degree equivalent in Geography from the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne in 1999-2000. Rémy pursued further education by obtaining a Master's degree in Tourism, Culture, and Environment from IREST in 2004-2005. In 2005-2006, they attended CY Cergy Paris Université, where they earned a Master's degree in Management and Engineering of Environmental Services.

Rémy Maréchal has also obtained several certifications. In 2014, they achieved the Duolingo Proficiency Exam in English: Expert. In 2015, they obtained the Duolingo Portuguese Fluency: Elementary (Estimated) certification. Most recently, in 2016, they became a Duolingo Certified Educator.
