Tom Whittaker

Tom Whittaker has a diverse work experience spanning over several years in the technology industry. Tom is currently working as a Senior Engineering Manager at Duolingo since May 2022. Prior to that, they worked at IQ Inc. as an Engineering Director from January 2021 to May 2022, an Engineering Manager from March 2020 to January 2021, and as a Software Architect from February 2016 to March 2020. Before joining IQ Inc., Tom held positions at PTC as a Software Development Manager from February 2014 to November 2015, and as a Software Development Group Lead from June 2009 to February 2014. Tom also worked at Relex Software Corporation as a Software Engineer from January 2003 to June 2009, at Lock 9 Technologies as a Software Engineer from October 2000 to October 2002, and at NetGames as a Software Engineer from May 2000 to October 2000. Tom started their career at Carnegie Mellon University as a Special Faculty from August 1997 to May 2000.

Tom Whittaker obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Carnegie Mellon University, where they studied from 1993 to 1997. In addition to their formal education, they obtained a certification in Leadership: Practical Skills from LinkedIn in October 2020.
