Michael Potoniec

Environmental Health Specialist at DuPage County Health Department

Michael Potoniec began their work experience in 2018 as a Mosquito Control Technician at Vector Disease Control International. In this role, they applied larvicides according to safety guidelines and educated community members about mosquito activity. From 2017 to 2019, they worked as a Health House Ambassador at Northern Illinois University, organizing health-related programs and fostering community among students. In 2019, they interned at the DeKalb County Health Department, assisting with environmental operations and programs. Later that year, they became a Public Health Advisor at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where they provided consultations on housing and public health concerns and coordinated an air quality monitor project. More recently, in 2021, they worked as a Project Manager at Landmark Pest Management. Currently, they hold the position of Environmental Health Specialist at the DuPage County Health Department.

Michael Potoniec attended Northern Illinois University from 2016 to 2019, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health with a focus on Environment and Health.
