Professor Daniel B. Oerther

Professor Daniel B. (Dan) Oerther is a distinguished academic and practitioner in the fields of environmental health engineering and public health. Currently serving as a Professor of Nursing by Courtesy at Duquesne University, Oerther holds multiple leadership positions including Executive Director and past roles as President of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists. At Missouri University of Science and Technology, Oerther is the Director of the Diplomacy Lab and serves as a Professor of Environmental Health Engineering. Previous experience includes tenure as a Foreign Affairs Officer for the U.S. Department of State and a Visiting Professor at King's College London. Oerther earned a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and completed graduate studies in Public Health at The Johns Hopkins University.
