Darren Whitten

Darren Whitten currently serves as the Superintendent of Operations at Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, a position held since January 2019. Prior to this role, Darren worked at Canadian Pacific Railway as the Assistant Superintendent in St. Paul, MN, from April to December 2018. From 2015 to 2018, Darren was employed by BNSF Railway as the Assistant General Superintendent of Transportation, contributing to the consolidation of operations in the North and Central Regions. With a long tenure at BNSF Railway from 1995 to 2015, Darren held various roles including Corridor Superintendent across multiple divisions, Terminal Superintendent for the Fort Worth Terminal complex, and Chief Dispatcher II, accumulating extensive experience in transportation operations, team leadership, and coordination across regional networks. Darren holds a degree from The University of Texas at Arlington, obtained between 1992 and 1995.
