Matthew Henderson is an experienced professional in visitor experience, commercial and product development, currently working as a freelancer for various organizations, including Amgueddfa Cymru and Birmingham Museum Trust, since November 2022. As a trustee for the Association for Cultural Enterprises since June 2021, Matthew represents The Alnwick Garden and 11Arches. Matthew's prior role at Beamish Museum spanned a decade, with positions ranging from Head of Commercial Operations and Development to Engagement and Participation Team Assistant. Additional experience includes work with Global as a street team member for Capital FM and Heart Radio. Matthew holds a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business from St. Leonard's Catholic School in Durham.

Durham Cathedral is a place of worship, pilgrimage and spirituality. As one of Britain's most iconic buildings and a UNESCO World Heritage Site we welcome thousands of visitors every year. Every day in the Cathedral is enriched with the Daily Offices of Morning and Evening Prayer (the latter being sung - i.e. Choral Evensong - most evenings) and at least one service of Holy Communion.
