Dr. Darlene Ryan

Dr. Darlene Ryan is an experienced educator currently serving as an Adjunct Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill since August 2022 and as the Assistant Superintendent for Durham Public Schools since May 2018. Dr. Ryan also holds the position of Principal at Glenwood Elementary School within Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools since 2008, and previously served as Past President of the National Science Education Leadership Association in 2014. Dr. Ryan obtained a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership and Administration, as well as a Master’s Degree in English Language Arts and Social Studies, and a Bachelor’s Degree in General Science and Physical Education, all from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
