Andrew Thomas is an experienced family physician currently serving at Bomanville Health Centre and Durham Region since July 2019, while also working as an Investigating Coroner for the Ontario Government. Andrew held the position of President of the Black Physicians' Association of Ontario from March 2022 to February 2024. Previous experience includes completing a residency in family medicine at Queen's University and working as a Research Coordinator at CAMH on the Smoking Treatment for Ontario Patients (STOP) program. Andrew's early career involved roles as a Research Officer with the Ontario Tobacco Research Unit, and Assistant Canvass Director for the Ontario Citizens' Coalition for Clean Affordable Energy. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine from Howard University College of Medicine and multiple degrees from the University of Toronto, including a Master of Public Health.
