Jan Wierzba

Jan Wierzba is an accomplished conductor and educator with extensive experience in various musical settings. Currently serving as the Artistic Director at Ensemble MPMP since October 2012, Jan also holds positions as the Main Conductor for Orquestra Clássica do Centro and an Orchestra Professor at Escola Superior de Música e das Artes do Espectáculo, both since 2018 and 2019 respectively. Additionally, Jan contributes to the Nationale Opera & Ballet as an Assistant Chorus Conductor since January 2016. Previous roles include Assistant Conductor for the Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest | Nederlands Kamerorkest and Conductor at Teatro Nacional de São Carlos in 2015, among others. Jan's educational background includes advanced degrees in conducting from institutions such as Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar and the Royal Northern College of Music, complemented by a foundational degree in Piano from Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espectáculo.
