Debbie Rivera Murphy serves as the Dean of Student Life at Dwight-Englewood School since August 2017, overseeing all aspects of student life in the Upper School, including fundraising initiatives, event calendars, and student organizations. From October 2014 to December 2022, Debbie contributed as a Faculty Member at the National Association of Independent Schools' Student Diversity Leadership Conference, facilitating dialogues on diversity and developing empowering curricula for high school students. As the Director of Youth Engagement for Teens Talk About Racism from March 2015 to May 2018, Debbie engaged youth leaders in discussions around racial issues and crafted curricula for high school students. Previous roles include teaching bilingual social studies at Passaic Public Schools, serving as a Corps Member and substitute teacher with Teach For America, and teaching English at Korea Poly School. Debbie holds a Master of Arts in Private School Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Georgetown University, where additional minors include Education, Inquiry & Justice, and Government.
