Saira Atif Chowdhry is an experienced science educator with a focus on student-centered and innovative teaching methodologies. Currently serving as an Upper School Science Teacher at Dwight-Englewood School since September 2018, Saira has a strong background in developing inquiry-based curricula through inter-departmental collaboration. Previous positions include teaching biology at Albany Academy For Girls and The Packer Collegiate Institute, where both the Modeling approach and Socratic questioning were utilized. Additional roles include teaching at The Pingry School and engaging in student-teaching internships, alongside foundational research experiences at New York State Department of Health and Stony Brook University. Saira holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Union Graduate College and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
