David R. Gastfriend, M.D.

David R. Gastfriend, M.D. has extensive experience in the medical field. In 2016, they became the Chief Medical Officer for DynamiCare Health, a start-up providing integrated technologies and analytics to treat substance use disorders. From 2015 to 2016, they were the Chief Architect for the American Society of Addiction Medicine's CONTINUUM - The ASAM Criteria Decision Engine(TM). From 2014 to 2016, they were the Chief Executive Officer of the Treatment Research Institute, the Senior VP of Medical Operations for the Loyola Recovery Foundation, a Senior Advisor/TRI Scholar for the Treatment Research Institute, and a Scientific Advisor for The ChangeCompanies (TM). From 2005 to 2014, they were the Vice President for Scientific Communications for Alkermes, Inc. Additionally, from 2001 to 2014, they were a Member of the Board of Directors for the Newton Cultural Alliance.

David R. Gastfriend, M.D. received their MD from Thomas Jefferson University between 1976 and 1980, and their BS in Chemistry from Haverford College between 1972 and 1976. David R. also obtained a certification from the American Board of Addiction Medicine through ABAM, Inc. in June 2009.
