Viraj Brian Wijesuriya

Viraj Brian Wijesuriya has a diverse and extensive work experience. Viraj Brian started their career as a Software Engineer at London School of Marketing, SL in 2011 and worked there until 2013. Viraj Brian then joined the Co-operative Insurance Company Limited as a Systems Security Auditor from January 2013 to January 2014. In 2012, they became a Lecturer in Computer Science at the University of Colombo School of Computing and held the position until September 2016.

From 2013 to 2016, Viraj Brian Wijesuriya simultaneously served as the Chief Technology Officer and Business Development Manager at Shin Kwang Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. Following this, they joined the University of Kelaniya as a Lecturer in Computer Science in November 2015, and their term ended in September 2016.

In 2015, they became the Chief Technology Officer at ShiftPlus LLC and worked until May 2020. Simultaneously, from 2017 to 2020, they served as the Director of Development at Greenhouse.lk.

Viraj Brian Wijesuriya pursued their Ph.D. at the University of Oxford as a fully funded DPhil candidate. During their time at the university, they held the position of Graduate Teaching Assistant from October 2018 to January 2020. Their Ph.D. position lasted from September 2016 to December 2021.

Currently, Viraj Brian Wijesuriya holds the position of Vice President of Engineering at Dynamify, a role they started in April 2022. Prior to this, they were a Senior Software Engineer and Data Scientist at Dynamify from July 2020 to April 2022.

Viraj Brian Wijesuriya completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer Science from the University of Colombo in the years 2007 to 2011. Viraj Brian then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science at the University of Oxford between 2014 and 2015. Building upon this, Viraj continued their education at the University of Oxford, specializing in Computer Science, and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from 2016 to 2020.
