Dr. M. M. Arafat

Senior Process Engineer at Dynex Semiconductor Limited

Dr. M. M. Arafat has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Starting in 2008, they served as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at the University of Malaya, where they worked on courses such as Research Methodology and Computational Materials Engineering. Dr. M. M. then moved on to become a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Glass and Ceramic Engineering at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology from 2017 to 2019. Following this, they were a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Malaya from 2019 to 2020. Dr. Arafat then joined City, University of London as a Marie Curie Research Fellow in November 2020 until March 2023. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Process Engineer at Dynex Semiconductor Ltd since February 2023. Additionally, they served as a Review Editor for the Reference Module in Materials Science and Materials Engineering from 2016 to 2017.

Dr. M. M. Arafat obtained their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Materials Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 2007. Dr. M. M. then pursued a Bachelor of Science in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering [B.Sc.Engg. (MME)] from the same university and successfully completed it in 2008. Dr. Arafat continued their education at University of Malaya, where they earned their Masters of Engineering Science (M.Eng.Sc.) degree in Materials Engineering in 2012. Dr. M. M. further advanced their education at the University of Malaya and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Materials Engineering in 2016.

In addition to their academic degrees, Dr. Arafat has obtained several certifications to expand their knowledge and expertise. Dr. M. M. acquired certification in "Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD) in Scanning Electron Microscope" from Rene de Kloe at Hi-Tech Instruments Sdn Bhd, Malaysia in 2014. In 2013, they obtained certification in "Electrodeposition of Advanced Materials" from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Malaya, Malaysia. Dr. Arafat also received training and certification in "LabVIEW Core 1" from National Instruments in Singapore in 2012. Furthermore, they gained knowledge in "Introduction to Nanometric Characterization of Materials by Transmission Electron Microscopy" from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Malaya, Malaysia in 2009.
