Steve Pallen

CTO and President of Research & Development at E-MetroTel

Steve Pallen has significant work experience in the telecommunications industry. Steve began their career at Nortel as a Software Developer, where they led a team in the development of the Meridian 1 Option 11E product. Steve also served as a Corporate Trainer, training over 100 software designers on Nortel products.

Pallen then worked at AT&T Wireless, where they served as a Product & Project Manager. Steve managed the exit of the Fixed Wireless business, including coordinating customer porting, equipment disposal, and project management.

Steve later joined Paltera Inc., where they served as President and designed a web application focused on information retention.

Pallen then returned to Nortel and worked as a Program Manager, leading the development of Nortel's CS1000 Data Center strategy. Steve also introduced Agile Scrum development to the company.

Steve continued their career at Nortel as the ACE Agile Program Office Leader, delivering the first and second releases of the Nortel Agile Communications Environment (ACE). Steve also served as an Enterprise Architect, designing integrated provisioning solutions.

Pallen then joined Avaya as the ACE Core Leader, leading a team in the development of the Avaya Agile Communications Environment (ACE).

Currently, they are the CTO and President of Research & Development at E-MetroTel, leading a team in the development of innovative communications solutions for Avaya/Nortel customers and partners.

Steve Pallen attended the University of Waterloo from 1982 to 1988. During their time at the university, they pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in engineering.
