Skip Descant

Skip Descant serves as a Staff Writer for e.Republic since June 2017, contributing to Government Technology magazine with a focus on Smart Cities, the Internet of Things, and transportation. Previous experience includes a role as a Tourism Writer for The Desert Sun from August 2012 to June 2017, and as a Business Writer for The Advocate between October 2010 and August 2012, where coverage included economic development in the Baton Rouge metropolitan area. Earlier journalistic positions include serving as a Fayetteville City Hall Reporter for the Northwest Arkansas Morning News and as a Reporter for The Commercial Dispatch from 2004 to 2008. Skip Descant holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University and furthered education at Loyola University New Orleans from 2001 to 2004.
