Gregory Zhang

Founder at e-Zinc

Gregory Zhang is the founder of e-Zinc, a company that specializes in developing new applications and technologies for zinc in the energy field. Prior to starting e-Zinc, Gregory worked as an R&D Manager at Teck Resources Limited from July 1990 to April 2011. In this role, they led the effort at the Product Technology Center on developing new applications and technologies for zinc in energy field. Gregory also has experience working in academia, as they were a Research Associate at Columbia University in the City of New York from July 1988 to July 1990, where they investigated the phenomena associated with laser enhanced electrochemical etching. Gregory’s experience and knowledge in both the private and academic sector make him uniquely qualified to lead e-Zinc in its mission to develop innovative zinc technologies.

Dr. Gregory Zhang earned their Ph.D. in Materials Science and Electrochemistry from the Free University of Brussels. Gregory then took a postdoctoral position at the Materials Processing Center/Dept of Electrical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Finally, they earned their Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
