Tobin South

Tobin South is an AI Security Researcher at MIT Media Lab and a Senior VC Fellow at E14 Fund, alongside serving as a Fulbright PhD Scholar at MIT. With a robust background in data science and machine learning, Tobin's experience includes research at Microsoft focusing on verifiable machine learning model attestations, as well as contributing to COVID-19 modeling for the Australian Department of Health. Previous roles include Data Science Researcher at the University of Adelaide, where work concentrated on Bayesian forecasting, misinformation research, and health product risk monitoring. Tobin co-founded PeopleTalk and was an NLP & AI Consultant at Brainframe, further enhancing expertise in natural language tools and data analytics. Education includes a PhD in Computational Social Science from MIT, a Master of Philosophy in Data Science, and recognition as valedictorian of a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Adelaide.
