James M. Watt, PhD

James M. Watt, PhD has extensive work experience in the field of life sciences and public health. James M. is currently serving as the VP for Life Sciences at Eagle Health Analytics since March 2020. Prior to this, they held the same position at Eagle Global Scientific from March 2013.

In addition to their role as VP for Life Sciences, Dr. Watt also served as the General Manager & Chief Scientist at Eagle Medical Services, LLC since March 2013. James M.'sresponsibilities included offering subject matter expertise to federal, academic, and private industry, providing solutions to a wide array of life science, biotech, and public health needs.

Before joining Eagle Medical Services, Dr. Watt worked as the Chief Scientist at Eagle Applied Sciences, LLC from February 2010 to February 2013. In this role, they were the principal scientific advisor and provided management for public health programs in various CDC divisions.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Watt served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Mississippi State University from 2008 to 2010. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Scientist at Altimmune, Inc., a vaccine development company, from 2004 to 2008. James M.'scontributions at Altimmune included expanding the company's technology platform and developing vaccine delivery systems.

Dr. Watt's experience also includes serving as an NIH Post-Doctoral Scholar at UAB Medicine from 2001 to 2004.

James M. Watt, PhD has a strong educational background in the field of microbiology. James M. obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Molecular Microbiology from Mississippi State University, where they studied from 1996 to 2001. Following that, they pursued further post-doctoral studies at the UAB School of Medicine from 2001 to 2004, as a NIH Post-Doctoral Scholar in the UAB Department of Microbiology.

In addition to their academic achievements, James M. Watt has obtained several certifications to enhance their professional skills. In 2009, they received a Microarray Technology Certification from the J. Craig Venter Institute. James M. later completed a HIPPA training certification in 2010 from HIPAA Training.
