John Johnston has over 17 years of experience in healthcare management and as a physician. John has held various leadership roles, including Senior Vice President of Practice Development at Eagle Hospital Physicians, where they were responsible for overseeing regional medical directors and practice development. Prior to that, they served as Vice President of Practice Development at PrimeDoc Management Services. John also has extensive experience as a hospitalist physician and medical director at various PrimeDoc locations.

John Johnston began their education journey by obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Georgia Southern University in 1995. John then attended Mercer University School of Medicine, earning their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in 1999. Following this, they completed their residency in Internal Medicine at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Affiliated Hospital - Moses H. Cone Memorial from 1999 to 2002. Subsequently, they obtained board certification in Internal Medicine as well as recertification in the same field with a focused practice in Hospital Medicine in 2012. John also holds medical licensure in multiple states including North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Kentucky, and Illinois.
