Sonia Fonseca is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Earlham Institute since January 2023, preceded by a role as Postdoctoral Researcher at Quadram Institute from January 2017 to June 2022. Prior experience includes positions as a Microbiology Technician at Centro Tecnolóxico da Carne from August 2015 to January 2017 and from January 2013 to January 2015, as well as a Chromatography Technician during the latter period. Sonia Fonseca completed a PhD at Universidade de Vigo between 2007 and 2013, which included experiences as a Visiting PhD Student at London Metropolitan University and ITACyL in 2012 and 2010, respectively. Initial research experience was gained as a Graduate Research Intern at Instituto de Investigaciones Marinas - CSIC in 2007. Academic qualifications include a Master's Degree and Bachelor's Degree in Food Science and Technology, both from Universidade de Vigo, as well as an Ingeniería Técnica Agrícola relating to Agrarian and Food Industries.
