Allison Mills

Communications Director at Earth Science Information Partners

Allison Mills is currently the Communications Manager at Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP). Prior to this, they worked as an editorial intern at EARTH Magazine and as the Associate Director Research News at Michigan Technological University.

Mills has always had a passion for writing and communicating. Allison began their career as an intern at EARTH Magazine, where they honed their skills in interviewing, writing, and editing. From there, they went on to become the Associate Director Research News at Michigan Technological University. In this role, they managed the daily flow of communications for a STEM research university. Allison also created, tweaked, and played with various management software programs, such as Monday, Trello, and Omni.

In their current role as Communications Manager at ESIP, Mills is responsible for all aspects of communication, from writing press releases to managing social media accounts. Allison also collaborates with researchers to help them grow as communicators and mentors faculty, staff, alumni, and students as they learn to write, speak, and present in plain language.

Allison Mills has a Master's degree in Journalism from the University of Montana, and a Bachelor of Science in Geoscience from Northland College.
