Tom D. has an extensive work experience in environmental science, sustainability, and renewable energy. In 2009, they joined Initiatives of Change Switzerland as a member of the Steering Committee Initiatives for Land, Lives & Peace, and Caux Dialogue for Environment & Security. In 2007, they became a Strategic Planner for Melbourne Water, where they developed a Decision Support System for Melbourne Water Corporation's assets and modeled the planning and investment scenarios for a $300MM funding under the 5 year Better Bays & Waterways Plan. Tom also co-developed an ecosystem services payments system for farmers and land managers. In 2009, they worked with the Green Building Council of Australia to develop a Public Building Rating Tool. In 2011, they founded Desertec Asia-Australia, and co-designed the concept and pre-feasibility study for a mega-scale solar power export of >20 gigawatts from the Australian desert to ASEAN. In 2017, they became an Advisor & Product Manager for a publicly listed fintech, enabling Ethereum based identity passporting around securities broker dealers. In 2018, they joined the Worldview Impact Foundation as a Non Executive Board Member. In 2019, they became the CEO & Co-founder of Earthbanc, a vertically integrated carbon project development platform. In 2020, they joined Ecosystem Restoration Camps as a member of the Advisory Council, working to identify new funding and finance mechanisms to accelerate ecosystems restoration. In 2005, they founded Aqua BiofilterTM, a biomimicry product that restored lake and river ecosystems to optimal health. Finally, in 2000, they founded Ecoplan Consulting (Australia) as a Managing Director and Owner, delivering management consulting to carbon projects.

Tom D. started their educational journey in 1996, when they completed a Bachelor of Business degree at RMIT University, specializing in Banking, Corporate, Finance, and Securities Law. Tom then attended Deakin University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies in 2000. After this, they enrolled at Swinburne University of Technology and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Applied Sciences in 1998. Tom D. continued their studies at Peppermint Ridge Farm TAFE and earned a Diploma in Conservation and Land Management in 2010, specializing in Ecology. In 2003, they completed a Graduate Diploma in Environment and Planning at RMIT University, focusing on Social Sciences. Lastly, they obtained a Permaculture Design Certificate from the Permaculture Research Institute in 2003.
