Jessica Lawrence is currently a staff scientist at EARTHJUSTICE. Jessica has dedicated their career to fighting for environmental justice and protecting the world's rainforests.
Lawrence began their career as a campaigner with the Rainforest Action Network in 2000. Jessica quickly rose to become a leading voice in the fight to protect the world's rainforests, authoring several groundbreaking reports on the devastating effects of the U.S. import of Indonesia's tropical hardwoods.
In 2004, Lawrence became the executive director of the Borneo Project, an organization dedicated to supporting indigenous communities in Malaysian Borneo. Under their leadership, the organization grew to become a leading force in protecting Borneo's rainforests and defending the rights of its indigenous people.
Most recently, Lawrence has been working with EARTHJUSTICE to fight for environmental justice around the world. Jessica is a passionate advocate for the protection of our planet's rainforests and its indigenous people.
Jessica Lawrence has a Masters in Ecosystem Science and Management from Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. Jessica also has a B.A. in Biology and Anthropology from Vassar College. Jessica is certified in forest Ecology & Management, Social & Political Ecology, and Policy Sciences.
