John Petoskey

Associate Attorney at Earthjustice

John Petoskey is an Associate Attorney at EARTHJUSTICE. Before that, they were an OHCHR Indigenous Fellow with the United Nations from June 2019 to August 2019. John has also worked as an Associate Attorney at the Environmental Law and Policy Center from October 2020 to December 2021, and as a Legal Intern with the Sonosky Chambers Sachse from May 2018 to August 2018. Petoskey graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 2020, and they were a Judicial Intern with Hon. Bernard A. Friedman, United States District Court Judge for the Eastern District of Michigan from May 2017 to August 2017, and with Hon. Timothy P. Connors, Washtenaw County Circuit Judge from September 2015 to July 2016.

John Petoskey received their Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. Their field of study was Spanish Language and Literature, Social Theory and Practice. John then went on to receive their Master of Science in Environmental Policy, Planning & Justice from the University of Michigan- School for Environment and Sustainability. Finally, they earned their Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School. Their interests include Federal Indian Law, Environmental Law, and Administrative Law.
