Marti Townsend is the current Regional Engagement Specialist at EARTHJUSTICE. Marti has extensive experience working in the non-profit sector in Hawaii, having served as Director of the Sierra Club of Hawaii, Executive Director of The Outdoor Circle, and Program Director/Acting Executive Director of KAHEA: The Hawaiian-Environmental Alliance. Marti is passionate about environmental justice and has been a powerful advocate for protecting Hawaii's unique natural resources and the Native Hawaiian cultural heritage that relies on them.
Marti Townsend attended the University of Hawai'i at Manoa - William S. Richardson School of Law, where they earned their Juris Doctorate. Marti also holds a Bachelor of Science from Boston University, where they studied Political Theory. Additionally, they have attended the University of Chicago and Moanalua High School.
