Sean Hecht is a legal professional with extensive experience in environmental law and advocacy. Currently serving as the Managing Attorney for the California Regional Office at Earthjustice since February 2023, Sean previously held prominent positions at UCLA School of Law from February 2003 to January 2023, including Co-Executive Director of the Emmett Institute on Climate Change and the Environment and Executive Director of the Environmental Law Center. Notably, Sean was the founding Board Chair and President of the Harbor Community Benefit Foundation, which focuses on mitigating off-port impacts from operations at the Port of Los Angeles. Sean's early career included roles as Deputy Attorney General at the California Department of Justice and as an attorney at Strumwasser & Woocher. Education credentials include a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Environmental Studies from Yale University.
