Thien Chau

Thien Chau is an associate attorney at EARTHJUSTICE. Thien previously worked as an associate attorney at the Sierra Club from September 2019 to September 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a law clerk at the U.S. Department of Justice from May 2018 to August 2018. Thien also interned at the U.S. District Courts from January 2018 to April 2018. Chau began their career as a law clerk at the Environmental Law Institute from May 2017 to August 2017. Thien also interned at the Environmental Defense Fund from May 2016 to July 2016, where they assisted in voter mobilization efforts, conference planning, and strategic planning to empower young people in addressing climate change. Prior to their work in environmental law, Chau interned at Tekach Law Firm PLLC from February 2017 to May 2017 and Kissel/E&S Associates from January 2015 to April 2015. Thien also interned at the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge from May 2014 to August 2014.

Thien Chau has a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Georgetown University Law Center and a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Environmental Studies (with a minor in Economics) from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Thien also has certification from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in Public Policy Analysis and from the D.C. Bar in Admitted to Practice Law.
