LaShawn Stewart's work experience includes serving as a Principal at a PK-5 school within the East Baton Rouge Parish School System since July 2010. Prior to that, they were a K-12 District Math Coordinator for the same school system from July 2008 to September 2009.
LaShawn Stewart completed high school at Peabody Magnet High in 1989. LaShawn then attended Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College at Baton Rouge from 1989 to 1993, earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Elementary Education and Teaching and Educational Leadership. In 2009, they pursued further studies at the University of Louisiana Monroe. Finally, from 2011 to 2015, LaShawn completed their education with an Educational Doctorate in Educational, Instructional, and Curriculum Supervision at Northcentral University.
